Fishers ranked Best Affordable Small City in America

Fishers tops list with affordability & quality of life amenities

Fishers has been named the Best Affordable Small City in America by Realtor.com. The list was compiled using a recent WalletHub ranking of the best 1,318 small cities in America, which analyzed key livability indicators such as affordability, economic health, education and health, safety, and quality of life.

Additionally, central Indiana tops the list with four Hamilton County communities scoring in the 99th percentile, more than any other state.

Realtor.com references Fishers small town charm combined with industry of larger metro areas, along with safety, education, and quality-of-life amenities such as the Fishers Event Center, set to open next month.

Fadness

“This ranking illustrates everything we have worked towards over the past decade,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness, the first and only Mayor to ever serve the growing community. “We’re seeing the culmination of these efforts come to fruition – a thriving business community and internationally recognized Life Science Park, safe neighborhoods close to trails and amenities, a new Event Center that will welcome national performers and sports teams, and more. There’s truly no better time to live in Fishers.”

The Realtor.com and WalletHub rankings are just a few of Fishers’ recent recognitions. Last month, Fishers was ranked No. 4 in USA Today’s Best Cities in the Midwest and No. 4 on Livability’s Best Places to Live in the U.S. Additional recognitions this year include ranking No. 2 in Forbes’ Best States to Start a Business in 2024 and No. 2 in MoneyGeek’s Safest Cities in America for 2024.
