Girls soccer: Victories abound for several Hamilton County teams

The Hamilton Heights girls soccer team finished third at the Hoosier Conference tournament last Saturday, winning the third-place game in penalty kicks.

The Huskies and the Bison played to a 1-1 tie after regulation and overtime. Natalie Marcum scored Heights’ goal, with Addyson Ferguson making the assist. The Huskies won the PK round 3-1 to clinch third place.

Heights followed that up Monday with a 3-0 win at Ben Davis. Kylee Long scored two goals and Marcum scored one goal and made one assist. Ferguson also dished out one assist. Audrey Lang had eight saves as goalkeeper.

The Huskies are 11-2-3 and play their regular season finale tonight at Pendleton Heights.

Carmel picked up a pair of wins over the past few days as well.

Last Saturday, the Greyhounds beat Zionsville 3-1. Olivia Cebalo scored two goals, with Kate Klinginsmith putting in one goal. Elizabeth Horoho and Camryn Love both had one assist. Goalkeeper Mary Grace Knapp collected five saves.

Carmel won an all-county game over Westfield 2-1 on Monday. Klinginsmith and Cebalo both scored one goal, with Klinginsmith making one assist. Knapp had 14 saves.

The Greyhounds finished their regular season 11-3-2. The Shamrocks are 9-4-2 and conclude the regular season tonight by hosting Avon in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Noblesville beat Penn 2-0 last Saturday at Newton Park.

Meredith Tippner scored the Millers’ first goal midway through the first half, with Sadie Black making the assist. Isabelle Meier put in a second-half goal with 18 minutes left in the second half; Tippner made the assist.

Bella Wyatt got her eighth shutout of the season.

Noblesville is 11-0-2 and hosts HCC opponent Franklin Central tonight to close the regular season.

Sheridan defeated Benton Central 4-0 Monday in its regular-season finale.

The Blackhawks scored two quick goals to begin the game. Abby Dallas put in the first goal off an assist by Cecilia Timme, then scored again minutes later from a Sadie Timme assist. Makaley Terry scored the third goal right before halftime, then Mac Smith added another goal with three minutes to go in the second half; Cecilia Timme made the assist.

Goalkeeper Avery Hills made four saves and got the shutout. Sheridan finished the regular season 11-4-1.

University defeated Triton Central 3-0 on Tuesday.

Bella Miller Krigger scored all three of the Trailblazers’ goals.

University is 7-6 and hosts Bethesda Christian on Friday in the Pioneer Conference placement game.

Fishers beat North Central 2-1 on Tuesday in its regular-season finale.

Elise May and Georgia Scott both scored one goal for the Tigers, with May and Mya Williams each making one assist.

Fishers concluded the regular season 9-5-2.

Guerin Catholic dropped a 1-0 game last Saturday at South Bend St. Joseph.

The Golden Eagles are 6-4-4 and play Saturday at Pendleton Heights to finish the regular season.
