Boys soccer: Noblesville, Westfield, University get wins

The Noblesville boys soccer team clinched a share of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship on Tuesday by beating Franklin Central 4-0.

The Millers scored three minutes into the first half when Ben Hewitt put in a feed from Carsten Shidler. That would be the only goal of the half, but Noblesville dominated the second half with three goals.

Hewitt scored again off an assist by Ashton Hancock to put the Millers up 2-0. Caden Rice put in Noblesville’s third goal, then Hancock sent a ball to Caedmon Todd, who scored the Millers’ fourth goal.

The Millers finished HCC play with a 4-0-3 record, tying them with Hamilton Southeastern for the conference championship.

This game was also the regular-season finale; Noblesville completed its campaign with a 9-1-6 record.

Westfield finished its regular and HCC season with a win Tuesday, beating Avon 1-0.

Oliver Church scored the Shamrocks’ goal, with Jacob Sundo making the assist. Goalkeeper Austin Butler made 10 saves.

Westfield completed its conference schedule with a 3-1-3 record and is 7-3-4 in regular-season play.

University finished its regular season with a 3-0 win over Triton Central on Monday.

The Trailblazers are 4-10.

Carmel split a pair of games to begin the week.

On Monday, the Greyhounds beat Guerin Catholic 2-0. Owen Price and Mikey Kubek each scored one goal. Carmel fell to Harrison 3-1 on Tuesday.

The Hounds are 5-6-3 and host Hamilton Southeastern on Thursday to finish the regular season.

The Golden Eagles beat Lafayette Central Catholic on Tuesday. Guerin Catholic is 4-9-1 and hosts Fort Wayne Canterbury on Saturday in its regular-season finale.
