While walking downtown Noblesville, Reporter columnist Janet Hart Leonard peeked into the bookstore and chatted with Brooke Heffernan and Jen Todderud.

Once upon a time, two little girls who loved to read met in college and then moved next door to each other. One night, they chatted and shared their thoughts about opening a bookstore. What if dreams come true, and a new chapter in their lives leads them to open that bookstore?

Jen Todderud and Brooke Heffernan were those little girls, and Chapter Books and Lounge is their bookstore, which will open in early October in downtown Noblesville.

Who doesn’t love walking into a bookstore and finding an adventure in the pages of a book? What if that bookstore had a place where you could sit and enjoy a cocktail or mocktail named after real people? What if you could enjoy a small plate from Bica Café and a cup of coffee or tea while sitting in a comfy chair, reading your book, and snacking on truffle popcorn?

You can soon find your way to 996 Conner St., where your favorite authors’ books will be tucked into the shelves. Signature Candles by Michelle Mallaber, as well as other gift items, will be available.

Think cozy. Think sweet ambiance. Think just what you dream the perfect bookstore could be.

Themed parties are in the works. Book clubs will be invited. Gently loved, pre-owned books for sale will be tucked into a corner.

Jen and Brooke await your arrival in October (9th-ish) as they open Noblesville’s long-anticipated downtown bookstore.

Let’s hear it for the girls and their dreams!
