Dolores “Dee” Hood

July 18, 1933 – September 21, 2024

Dolores “Dee” Hood, 91, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Five Star Residences of Noblesville. She was born on July 18, 1933 in New Albany, Ind.

Dee was a homemaker for many years and was the Director of Student Services for the Indiana Senate. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Dee enjoyed looking for antiques and refinishing them, and she had a variety of collectibles. She liked visiting Gatlinburg and Brown County, and family vacations to Destin, Fla.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Hood, Mike (Gloria) Hood, Jeff (Cindi) Hood, and Steve (Dorothy) Hood; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ross (Bell) Staley; father, Michael Cooney; beloved husband of 64 years, Sidney Hood; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with Father Richard Doerr officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral center. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
