John R. Blazier, 92, Pendleton, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at his home in Pendleton following an extended illness.
He was born on November 7, 1931, in Jay, Okla., to Joseph W. and Beulah M. (Phelps) Blazier. He was a 1950 graduate of Noblesville High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps.
He retired in from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson as a tool and die welder.
He loved to work, hunt, and fish. He loved helping people. He enjoyed spending time in nature.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Grimes) Blazier; four children, Marla Jones of Anderson, Mona Hilton of Pendleton, Edwin Blazier of Noblesville, and Vance (wife, Melissa) Blazier of Noblesville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Joe Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with Rev. Tom Greenslade officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Memorial Cemetery in Noblesville where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post #212.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
