Girls golf: Westfield, Guerin Catholic each score conference championships

The Westfield girls golf team claimed the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship Monday at Bear Slide Golf Club.

The Shamrocks totaled 301 as a team, with Noblesville the runner-up by scoring 308. Westfield’s Kelsey Haverluck ran away with medalist honors, scoring 70. Haverluck finished three strokes ahead of a three-way tie for second place.

The Rocks’ Addi Kooi was part of that tie, scoring 73. Sophie Raines added 77; all three Westfield golfers were named to the All-HCC team after the meet. Lilley Ku made an eagle on the third hole.

The Millers’ Olivia Fowler was also part of the second-place tie by scoring 73. Karis Shields and Olivia Anderson both scored 78s; they both joined Fowler on the all-HCC team.

Hamilton Southeastern placed a close third as a team with 309. Janelle Garcia scored 73 to join the second-place tie. Sophie Roberts added 77, placing her on the all-HCC team along with Garcia.

Fishers scored 390 as a team. Kendall Manion led the Tigers with 92.

Team scores: Westfield 301, Noblesville 308, Zionsville 309, Hamilton Southeastern 315, Brownsburg 321, Avon 353, Fishers 390, Franklin Central 406.

Medalist: Kelsey Haverluck (Westfield) 35-35=70.

Other Westfield scores: Addi Kooi 39-34=73, Sophie Raines 37-40=77, Sami Hanavan 40-41=81, Lilley Ku 41-46=87, Kate Brown 46-44=90.

Noblesville scores: Olivia Fowler 37-36=73, Karis Shields 40-38=78, Olivia Anderson 42-36=78, Peyton Kauzlick 40-39=79, Josie Kelley 43-37=80, Presley White 43-43=86.

Southeastern scores: Janelle Garcia 37-36=73, Sophie Roberts 40-37=77, Laci Hart 39-40=79, Brooke Willard 44-42=86, Maya Cieply 49-45=94, Karolina Franssen 51-45=96.

Fishers scores: Kendall Manion 44-48=92, Lola Kivett 49-48=97, Aleah Miller 54-46=100, Sophia Rush 48-53=101, Ellie Webster 55-49=104, Natalie Vinton 55-62=117.

Guerin Catholic triumphed at the Circle City Conference meet Monday at Hillcrest Golf Club.

The Golden Eagles scored 351 for the team win, well ahead of runner-up Heritage Christian’s 380. Other team scores were Bishop Chatard 392, Roncalli 408 and Brebeuf Jesuit 427.

Guerin Catholic had the top two individual finishers. Ali Scott won medalist honors with 80, with Sydney Delagrange the runner-up by scoring 82. Both were named to the All-Conference team after the meet. The Golden Eagles’ other scores were Sarah Rigg 94, Avery Wall 95 and Gracie Navarro 101.

Hamilton Heights won a three-way meet Monday at Bear Slide.

The Huskies scored 204, with Eastern and Tipton both finishing with 207s. Taylor Morrison led Heights with 45, while Presley Cherry scored 47. Other Huskies scores were Fiona McDonald 54, Sammie Powers 58, Tanner Penwell 59, Alayna Kauffman 63 and Brooke Bentley 68.

Noblesville won a hot four-team meet at Prairie View Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Millers scored 156 to Zionsville’s 164, Westfield’s 165 and Carmel’s 177. Noblesville’s Karis Shields carded 36 for co-medalist honors; other Noblesville scores were Josie Kelley 38, Olivia Anderson 41 and Olivia Fowler 41.

The Shamrocks’ Addi Kooi also scored 36 to share medalist honors. Other Westfield scores were Sophie Raines 39, Kate Brown 43, Lilley Ku 46, Sami Hanavan 49 and Sadie Edwards 51.

Sophie Mock led the Greyhounds with 40, followed by Allie Thompson 44, Reese Roudebush 45, Mallorie Monico 48 and Georgia Murnan 56.
