Kroger supporting high school football with Spirit Nights & Games of the Week

The REPORTER

The Kroger Co. has announced the launch of a 12-week High School Football program.

The new concept aims to support and celebrate the game in several central Indiana school districts and others around the country, while also giving back to the community through a generous donation of $200,000.

Locally, participating Hamilton County schools include:

  • Fishers
  • Hamilton Southeastern
  • Noblesville
  • Westfield

The Kroger High School Football program will feature a range of exciting events designed to engage fans, players, and their families. These activities include “Spirit Night” fan rallies at key stores, Friday Night “Games of the Week,” weekly “Player of the Week” awards, an engaging high school football website, exclusive digital coupons for high school parents and supporters, and in-store savings on popular brands such as Campbell’s Soup, Premier Protein, PRIME, Goldfish, Velveeta, McCormick, and many more.

“We salute everyone who makes high school sports such a special experience for students,” Kroger Central Division President Colleen Juergensen said. “My sons were involved in high school sports, so I’ve seen what students can learn about hard work and dedication, both on and off the field. Now, we look forward to cheering for our young Hoosier athletes in the new season.”

One of the highlights of the program, featuring Hoosier schools from Fishers to Franklin, is the opportunity to receive donations through the purchase of partner products. A portion of the proceeds from such sales will be presented to the participating high schools, helping them enhance their athletics programs and provide better opportunities for their student-athletes.

High school football excites nearly every community in America from August through November with over 9,000 games each week, featuring over 18,000 teams and a fan base of over 14 million people attending games weekly.

“We are thrilled to launch the Kroger Co. High School Football program and create another connection to the communities we serve,” Juergensen said. “The game plays a vital role in community spirit and pride. Through this program, we will celebrate the game and the sportsmanship that comes from it.”

The Kroger High School Football program will kick off Friday, Aug. 23, and run for 12 weeks in school districts all over the United States.
