Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank supports families in need through Meijer Simply Give hunger relief program

Campaign set to run through Sept. 28

Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank (HCHFB) announces a partnership with Meijer to provide much-needed relief to local families facing food insecurity through the retailer’s customer-driven hunger relief program, Simply Give.

“Food insecurity is a real issue in our hometown community,” HCHFB Executive Director Anita Hagen said. “Over 32,160 Hamilton County friends and neighbors are not sure where their next meal is going to come from.”

The Simply Give program encourages customers to add a $10 Simply Give donation card to their cart, which is then converted into a Meijer food-only gift card and given to a local food pantry in the store’s community.

HCHFB will benefit from donation cards at the Noblesville Meijer stores now through Sept. 28. In addition, Meijer will DOUBLE MATCH all customer cards on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14, effectively tripling contributions made on both days. Meijer customers shopping online using Meijer Pickup or Home Delivery can also include Simply Give donation cards as an add-on to their orders.

“Continued hardships have taught us all the importance of community members supporting each other,” Hagen said. “We encourage our community to give and help us feed our Hamilton County neighbors in need by adding a Meijer Simply Give food donation card to your cart during your next shopping trip.”

Since 2008, more than $91 million has been distributed to food pantries across the Midwest to feed neighbors in need through the Meijer Simply Give program.

You can also donate to this program through HCH Food Bank Online Giving. Just select “Food Purchases” or “Meals for Kids” and be ensured your donation will go towards food purchases for hungry neighbors.
