Two Hamilton County throwers earned All-American honors at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic National Championships, which took place July 22 to 28 at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Noblesville’s Hannah Alexander finished in the top three in three different events, earning her All American honors in each one. Alexander placed second in the Girls 17-18 division in both the shot put, with a throw of 14.51 meters (47 feet, 7.25 inches) and the discus, where she threw 44.51 meters (146 feet). She also placed third in the hammer throw, with a distance of 50.11 meters (164 feet, 5 inches).

Alexander graduated from Noblesville High School in June and was a four-year thrower for the Millers. She won the IHSAA state championship in discus her junior year; her performance that season helped Noblesville to its first ever team state track and field title. Alexander will attend Indiana University this fall and will be part of the Hoosiers women’s track and field team.

Fishers’ Macey Miller also earned All-American honors by placing seventh in the Girls 17-18 shot put, throwing 12.48 meters (40 feet, 11.25 inches). Miller will be a senior at Fishers High School this year; she placed eighth in the shot put at the IHSAA state meet last June.
