Indiana American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, and the American Water Charitable Foundation (AWCF) recently awarded the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville (BGCN) a State Strategic Grant of $5,000.

BGCN has provided opportunities for youth to enjoy activities and experiences that shape character since 1951. Serving youth from kindergarten to 12th grade, BGCN provides positive and engaging programs that enrich the lives of a diverse group of members. In 2023, BGCN served 2,086 members. No one was turned away because they could not pay the membership fee.

“We’re grateful for AWCF’s grant because as they aren’t earmarked for a specific program which allows us to help fill the gaps where we need the money across the wide range of programs and services that we offer,” BGCN Executive Director Becky Terry said. “These donations are huge for us to support the mission and the work that we do.”

Indiana American Water’s Noblesville Operations Senior Superintendent Greg Stephens presented the grant to BGCN.

“It makes me feel really good to present a grant to an organization that meant so much to me as a kid when I was growing up,” Stephens said. “I spent a lot of time during my youth at the Boys & Girls Club, and it played a big part in shaping me into the person I became.”

This year, AWCF awarded $35,000 in State Strategic Grants across communities served by Indiana American Water. In addition, the AWCF recently provided $20,000 in disaster relief assistance to the Town of Selma and City of Winchester after those Hoosier communities were devastated by tornadoes in March.

State Strategic Grants are part of the AWCF’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, which focuses on three pillars of giving: water, people, and communities. AWCF offers several grant opportunities throughout the year. For additional information about grant eligibility and how to apply, visit amwater.com/awcfgrants.
