Ascension Medical Group welcomes new breast surgeon

Dr. Christina Kim now serving patients at Ascension St. Vincent Fishers & Kokomo

Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana welcomes Breast Surgeon Christina Kim, MD to the Ascension Medical Group team at Ascension St. Vincent in Fishers and Kokomo.

Dr. Kim is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced training in surgical oncology. She brings to the team 20 years of experience as a breast surgical oncologist.

Dr. Kim will diagnose and treat adults with a variety of breast-related conditions, ranging from benign issues to high-risk prevention and breast cancers. With a multi-disciplinary approach at Ascension, she works with a team of specialists to deliver comprehensive, state-of-the-art care.  She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical approaches, promoting shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery for her patients.

“I understood early on how difficult it is for patients to navigate the complexities of cancer care as I experienced this first-hand with my own family,” Dr. Kim said. “I have dedicated my entire career to helping patients in need and delivering excellent care with compassion and ease so that patients can always have access and feel safe and supported as if it was my own family member. As such, I always work collaboratively with a large team of specialists and support staff to provide the absolute best patient-centered care.”

She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology and has been recognized as an Indianapolis Monthly Top Doctor for more than 10 consecutive years.

Dr. Kim will be available at the Fishers facility on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and at the Kokomo facility on Tuesday and Thursday.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Kim enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
