Israel Menchaca Jr.

October 13, 1947 – July 11, 2024

Israel Menchaca Jr., 76, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on October 13, 1947, to Israel, Sr. and Socorro (Huerta) Menchaca in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Israel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For 41 years, he worked for Public Service Indiana/Duke Energy. Israel was a member of the Noblesville Moose, American Legion, VFW, and the Elks. He played men’s softball for years and enjoyed golfing (making a hole-in-one at Plum Creek).

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mollie Menchaca; son, Israel James (Teri) Menchaca; daughter, Michelle Menchaca (Barry) Dixon; sisters, Magdalena Guerra Menchaca, Socorro Aida Flores Huerta, and Patricia Huerta; grandchildren, Micaela Catherine Menchaca and Alexa Nikole Menchaca; and great-grandchild, Vincent Menchaca.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Micaela Rodriguez Menchaca and Rosa Maria Martinez Menchaca; and grandchild, Adam Neal Dixon.

A celebration of life with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Noblesville VFW, 654 S. 9th St. Inurnment will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville at a later date.
