Franklin College bestowed several awards at the annual Student Involvement Awards ceremony on May 1. A highlight of the event each year is the unveiling of the “Top Ten Seniors.” The recipients are chosen based on their academic excellence (a minimum of 3.0 grade-point average); leadership on campus, both inside and outside the classroom; and their embodiment of the college’s values.
Locally, two students were recognized. They are Kaitlyn Hewitt of Westfield and Elliot Davidson of Zionsville.
Hewitt, the daughter of Suzanne and Dave Wallace and Jeff and Michelle Hewitt, is a resident of Westfield. She majored in business management and accounting. She graduated cum laude.
Hewitt was a member of the Women’s Soccer Team, serving as captain for three years. In addition to being a Resident Assistant, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, serving as director of policy and prevention education, director of member finances, vice president of finance housing and a member of the conduct committee. She was also involved with Panhellenic, serving as vice president of philanthropy and as a Rho Gamma.
Hewitt was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, Delta Mu Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa honorariums. Her post-college plans include working as an audit associate at Dauby, O’Connor & Zaleski, LLC.
Davidson, the son of Joshua and Mary Davidson of Zionsville, majored in biology and received a digital fluency endorsement. He graduated summa cum laude. While at Franklin, he served as treasurer of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and was a member of the Men’s Track and Field Team and the Men’s Indoor Track and Field Team. He was inducted into the Alpha Society and the Chi Alpha Sigma Student Athlete Honor Society.
