Hear Anne Marie Chastain of CSO on “The Omnibus Show” podcast

This week, The Omnibus Show welcomed Anne Marie Chastain, Executive Director of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

Chastain shared her history, including some meaningful and emotional experiences in both work and her favorite music. She will also share exciting information from the CSO, including the upcoming Summer Concert Series, a partnership with the daughter of the legendary Tony Bennett, and more.

Chastain said that the upcoming Summer Concert Series will be an exciting one with six shows, three of them set to take place at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, as well as appearances as part of CarmelFest on July 4, and a partnership with Carmel JazzFest and their special guest Antonia Bennett, daughter of legendary crooner Tony Bennett.

Chastain’s life experience has led her to her role with the CSO. She has a Master of Arts and Arts Administration from Indiana University. She is a Trained Facilitator in Emotional CPR and Peer Led Support Mental Health and Grief. Organizations she has been involved with include the National Empowerment Center, Allies of Indiana, and Brooke’s Place.

She was the Executive Director for Development and External Affairs, Regional Director of Development, and Director of Major Gifts for the IUPUI School of Science and IU Foundation, served as the Associate Director of Development – Planned Giving, Associate Director of Development for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and was the Executive Director of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra where she helped launch a youth orchestra.

Chastain also spoke of her success in event planning and the huge numbers she was able to reach with her fundraising efforts over the years.

She was the founding Board President of the Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra and helped incorporate the organization, as well as launch a performance series at the Indianapolis Historical Society for the orchestra.

She attended high school at Interlochen Arts Academy in Traverse City, Mich., with a clarinet emphasis. She spent two years performing with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra as Principal Clarinetist and in other roles.
