Tuxedo Brothers to hold six TRI events in central Indiana this summer

Looking for a challenge this summer? Try one of the Tuxedo Brothers TRI events.

A TRI incorporates swimming, biking, and running all in one race. Triathlon is a sport growing in popularity across the United States because of its versatility and because it encompasses all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.

Since 1984, Tuxedo Brothers has managed more than 1,000 runs, walks and triathlons benefiting service and charitable organizations. They will kick off the 2024 multisport season with six triathlons, including a three-part summer series.

The season opens with the Indy Sprint Triathlon Series. All three of the Indy Sprint events take place at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, the first being June 8. Subsequent races in the series take place July 20 and Aug. 17.

This series consists of triathlons and duathlons and a new Aquabike option. There are also duathlon and triathlon relay options. The minimum age requirement is 14 for all TRI events, but all abilities are welcome. The events are open to individuals and teams.

The swim for this event takes place in Eagle Creek Reservoir with the run and bike taking you through the beautiful tree filled park on Indy’s Northwest side.

On June 15 is the Cicero TRI at Red Bridge Park in Cicero. This popular, sprint distance triathlon is great for beginners. It starts with a short straight swim across Morse Reservoir, followed by a gently rolling 11-mile bike course, then a three-mile run course in an out-and-back format.

This is followed by the June 29 event in Noblesville – the Morse Park Summer TRI. The Morse Park TRI offers athletes the chance to compete in an exciting, short course triathlon or duathlon and is perfect for beginners or veterans. This swim is also in Morse Reservoir with a bike loom through Hamilton County, then an out-and-back along paved bike trails and roads.

TRI Indy at White River State Park is on July 28. Hundreds of athletes will take part in the 17th annual event. This TRI consists of an Olympic Triathlon, a sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Olympic Aquabike event and a 2-3 person Olympic Triathlon relay.

Utilizing the picturesque canal of downtown Indy and the streets traversing the city’s cultural and historic landmarks, TRI Indy offers participants a challenging and memorable course.

All TRI events hosted by Tuxedo Brothers are sanctioned by USA Triathlon, so all USAT rules will be enforced. To learn more about USAT, click here.
