Event seeks to link faith, community & environmental action
Grace Church, 5504 E. 146th St., Noblesville, will buzz with activity from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 as the third annual Indy Creation Fest takes center stage. This free, family-friendly event offers a unique blend of inspiration, education, and action for all ages.
Over 30 local exhibitors, including non-profit organizations, animal rescues, and churches focused on ecological stewardship, will be on hand to connect with attendees. Visitors can explore a display of electric vehicles, participate in a scavenger hunt, and enjoy delicious food from two food trucks, one offering vegan options. The Grace Church cafe (The Leaf) will also be open for coffee and refreshments.
Rev. Kyle Meyaard-Schaap, author of Following Jesus in a Warming World, will deliver the keynote address at 11 a.m. Meyaard-Schaap, former Vice President of the Evangelical Environmental Network, will challenge the audience to consider the role of faith in environmental action.
“There is often an unnecessary divide between the church and the environmental movement,” Indy Creation Fest Co-chair Dava Brown said. “We believe it is part of our call as Christians to care for the earth and the most vulnerable among us.”
Indy Creation Fest aims to bridge this gap by fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
“Our vision is to live in a world where contributing to our planet’s well-being is easy for everyone,” Brown said. “We hope Indy Creation Fest inspires people to take action and provides practical ways to get involved, and for more churches to see creation care as part of their mission, becoming leaders in the environmental movement.”
