Hamilton Heights falls in Kentucky doubleheader

Hamilton Heights dropped both games of a doubleheader at George Rogers Clark in Winchester, Ky. on Wednesday.

The Huskies lost both games 12-2. In the opener, both teams scored twice in the first inning. Nick Bichey scored the first run on Dillon Pitts’ RBI groundout, then Adam Hughes doubled Nick Hulen home. GRC tied the game in the bottom of the first inning, then scored in the next three innings to get the five-inning, run-rule victory.

In the second game, GRC scored three runs in the bottom of the first. Heights got a run back in the second inning when Cyrus Mason singled in Logan Hickman. Chase Hall also drove in Hickman in the fourth inning with an RBI line drive.

The Huskies were within 3-2, but GRC scored three runs in the fourth, another run in the fifth, then finished the game in the sixth inning with five runs. Pitts went four and one third innings, striking out five.

Heights is 0-3 and plays a doubleheader at Anderson Saturday.
