Westfield Welcome will kick off the highly anticipated Westfield Summer Farmers Market, presented by Duke Energy, on Thursday, May 30.
The market will bring fresh produce, artisanal goods, and a vibrant community event to downtown Westfield at Grand Junction Plaza, 225 S. Union St.
Scheduled to run every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. through Sept. 26 – except for July 4 – the Westfield Farmers Market promises locally sourced fruits and vegetables, handmade artisan items, local meat and dairy farmers, and the return of food trucks. The Westfield Farmers Market is more than just a shopping experience; it is an opportunity for the community to connect with local farmers and artisans, fostering a sense of community and promoting sustainable living.
“We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge and thank the Downtown Westfield Association for their tireless efforts over the years to establish and run the Farmers Market,” Mayor Scott Willis said. “We are honored to have the reins handed over to our Westfield Welcome team and are excited to build on their successes.”
Vendors interested in participating in the Summer Farmers Market can visit WestfieldWelcome.com to apply for consideration. Applications opened on Tuesday, March 5. Businesses interested in sponsoring the Westfield Farmers Market can also visit WestfieldWelcome.com for more information.
The heart of the Farmers Market beats with the dedication and passion of all the incredible volunteers. Thus, event organizers announced the formation of a Farmers Market Volunteer Steering Committee. Comprising residents and individuals committed to fostering community engagement and supporting local agriculture, this committee will play a pivotal role in shaping the market’s success.
If you are eager to contribute your skills, ideas, and time to the market, consider joining the Farmers Market Volunteer Steering Committee. More information can be found at WestfieldWelcome.com/get-involved.
