Donald L. Forkner, 79, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 20, 1944, to Williard and Nancy Elizabeth (Ehman) Forkner in Noblesville.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after 31 years as a fabricating machine specialist for Allison Transmission. Donald enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and boating. He had a questionable euchre game. Donald was a member of the Noblesville American Legion and the Local 933 UAW Chapter in Indianapolis. He loved going out to eat and spending time with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Ruth Forkner; four daughters, Angela (Charles) Parsley, Cathy Kollath, Laurie (Brad) Leffler, and Dawn (Jason) Dudgeon; nine grandchildren, Shawna (Jason), Morgan (Robert), Stephen (Kristin), Jackie (Jonny), Seth (Janina), Logan, Blake, Jake, and Sam; eight great-grandchildren; and 29 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Wanda Gullion and Ellen M. Stoops.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be held at a later date at Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
