Four Sheridan High School (SHS) students were recognized at the January school board meeting for their Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) Rising Stars designation.
SHS selected Liberty Coyle-Paddack, Leah Fredriks, Isaiah Garrett, and Mackenzie Smith for the award based on their academic excellence.
The IASP Rising Stars program was created to give schools an opportunity to recognize outstanding students during their junior year, in an effort to increase “visibility and scholarship opportunities.
SHS Principal Rick Davis expressed his appreciation to IASP for the opportunity to recognize these exceptional students.
“We are proud of the accomplishments of Liberty, Leah, Isaiah, and Mackenzie and are excited for their bright futures,” Davis said.
School board members added their praise for the students during the meeting on Monday night.
“We applaud these students for their hard work and dedication,” Superintendent Dr. Dave Mundy said. “I also want to express gratitude for our teachers and staff who create world-class learning for our students every day, showing how a small school can provide big opportunities.”
