Huskies take third place in conference swim meet

The Hamilton Heights girls swim team finished third at the Hoosier Conference meet, which took place last Saturday at West Lafayette.

The Huskies won nine of the 12 events. Teegan Madara set a new conference record in winning the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 5 minutes, 4.39 seconds. Ayla Madara was a double individual champion in the 200 free and butterfly, while Sophia Hulen also picked up two wins, in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Campbell Lively-Mason won diving, while Amira Leer was first in the individual medley. Leer teamed with Teegan Madara, Ayla Madara and Hulen to win both the medley relay and the 400 free relay, the latter race in a new conference record of 3:40.65.

The boys conference meet is this Saturday at West Lafayette.
