The Royals had to work for it, but their Mudsock wrestling win streak continued Tuesday night.
Hamilton Southeastern hosted Fishers in the Mudsock meet, and after overcoming an early deficit, the Royals won a thriller over the Tigers 28-25. It’s the 13th consecutive Mudsock win for Southeastern.
Fishers won the first two bouts. Xavier Smith posted a major decision victory at 175 pounds and Julian Burgett won at 190 in a 10-8 decision after trailing 5-0.
The Royals took the next three matches. Evan Lawhead picked up a major decision win at 215, then Nate Ingalls got a pin to take the 285-pound match. Will Lakes’ decision at 106 gave HSE a 13-7 lead.
Fishers’ Will Hruskoci won at 113 by decision, but the Royals’ Tyler Jackson answered with a decision of his own at 120. Chayce Yant delivered a pin at 126 pounds, and Fishers had tied the match at 16-16.

Southeastern freshman Max Inman won at 132 pounds in a screamer; Inman absorbed two early takedowns but moved ahead in the third period to win a 13-12 decision. The Royals led 19-16, but the Tigers’ Teyon Leonard tied it at 19-19 with a decision win at 138.
HSE’s Chris Casler took the 144-pound bout by decision, but Fishers’ Stephen Breck won at 150 by decision, and the score was tied 22-22 with two matches to go. Zach Lang stepped up for the Royals at 157, and he made a pin to clinch the match for Southeastern. The Tigers’ Camden Funk won the 165-pound match by decision.
Both teams are off until Dec. 29. The Royals will compete in the Mooresville Classic, while Fishers travels to the Connersville Invitational.
