Sheridan takes down North Miami in home opener
The REPORTER
Sheridan won its first game of the season Friday, beating North Miami 35-12 at Bud Wright Stadium.
Eli Kolb had a fantastic running game for the Blackhawks. He scored four of Sheridan’s five touchdowns, including two in the first quarter. Kolb zoomed into the end zone from 55 yards to get the ‘Hawks on the board just 19 seconds into the game.
Kolb also scored one touchdown each in both the third and fourth quarters. In the second period, Caleb Alexander threw a 12-yard TD pass to Nolan Page. Owen Bell was perfect in extra-point kicks, making five of five.
“We played a lot better,” said Wright. One thing that helped Sheridan was the return of Zach Bales, who was out for the Blackhawks’ opener.
“He returned and that really helped us,” said Wright.
Sheridan is 1-1 and plays at Tri-Central on Friday.
