Often cited among America’s greatest living songwriters, Lucinda Williams is the latest addition to the concert schedule at the Center for the Performing Arts.
Williams and Her Band will appear at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the Palladium, joining a 2023-2024 Center Presents Season that includes a previously announced Nov. 3 Palladium performance by another acclaimed singer-songwriter, Grace Potter.
Tickets for both shows will be available starting at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, online at TheCenterPresents.org, by phone at (317) 843-3800, or in person at the Palladium’s Fifth Third Bank Box Office, 1 Carter Green, Carmel. Presale access is available Tuesday to Center donors ($250 or more), Wednesday to series subscribers, and Thursday for subscribers to the Center’s eNews mailing list.
Williams, bouncing back with vigor after a 2020 stroke, is touring to support her brand-new 16th studio album, Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart, which features guest appearances by artists including Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Margo Price, and Buddy Miller. She also has just published a candid memoir of her life in music, Don’t Tell Anybody the Secrets I Told You. Her touring band includes longtime collaborators David Sutton on bass, Butch Norton on drums, and Doug Pettibone and Stuart Mathis on guitars.
Potter, following up on her Grammy-nominated 2019 album Daylight, is set to release Mother Road, a collection inspired by travels on Route 66. Recorded with an all-star backing band, the 10 tracks fuse soul, blues, country, and rock and include two songs cowritten with Natalie Hemby of the Highwomen.
Presented in partnership with Allied Solutions, the 2023-2024 Center Presents Season includes more than 50 events, with more to be added. Single-event tickets are on sale now for some performances early in the season, including the annual Songbook Academy in Concert on July 22, Daughtry on Aug. 9, Spyro Gyra on Aug. 12, Ben Harper on Aug. 15, and indie-folk artist The Tallest Man on Earth on Oct. 8. Tickets for other shows in the 2023-2024 season will go on sale individually to the general public on Aug. 4.
