Don’t worry, Carmel, this four-way stop won’t last long

Effective immediately, the Carmel Street Department has added two stop signs for traffic going east and west on Main Street at Veterans Way. That makes this a four-way stop. City Engineer Jeremy Kashman said an increase of construction activity in the Central District has led to this temporary measure in the Arts & Design District. “There is a lot of pedestrian activity at the intersection, as well, and we felt it was best at this time to make the change for safety,” Kashman said.
