The REPORTER
The Hamilton County Reporter has selected Guerin Catholic junior Leo Wessel as its Boys Golf Player of the Year.
Wessel made history for the Golden Eagles at the IHSAA state meet, becoming the school’s first-ever individual state champion in golf. Wessel finished the two-day state tournament with a six-under par 138 and was a key part of Guerin Catholic defending its team state championship.
Wessel had a consistent season for the Golden Eagles. In addition to his state win, he also triumphed at the Sandy Pines Invitational in April, and won a pair of dual meets at Ulen Country Club and at Woodstock Golf Club.
