Jungle Jams
9 to 11:30 a.m., July 24 to 28
The Studio Theater

Come join in the jammin’! Imagine living among animal friends in a jungle filled with rhythm instruments, music, and movement. Miss Lisa (a.k.a. “Groove Lady”) and her stuffed animals introduce your child to the fun and excitement of recreational music making. Jungle Jams is a creative summer camp program in which kids aged 5 to 7 learn about positive character qualities as well as concepts like rhythm and groove through music and physical activities.

Each daily session includes active music making, creative movement, playing instruments and singing. Kids begin to build a sense of community and self-esteem as they contribute to the “group groove.” During the week, each camper will make three simple musical instruments to bring home. Family members are invited to join the Community Drum Circle Celebration the last 30 minutes on Friday.

After winning the $10,000 MOKB Presents Battle of the Bands in 2020, Indianapolis soul rock sextet The Palace found its bigger plans put on hold by the pandemic. The band has since reorganized and is a mainstay feature of Indy Pride Festival after 2022 appearances at WonderRoad and All IN Music Festival. Fronted by flamboyant vocalist Ray Hutchins, The Palace has just released its long-awaited debut album, Rainbow Shades, with nine tracks exploring styles from rock to gospel to soul and, at times, the theater.
