Carmel police arrest two in CVS robbery

At approximately 5:32 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, Carmel police responded to a call of a robbery that had just occurred at the CVS located at 1421 S. Range Line Road.

It was reported that two men entered the store armed with guns, jumped the counter, and took pills before fleeing the store. A description of the suspects was relayed to officers responding to the area.

One officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area and relayed the information to other responding units. That vehicle was occupied by two men. Officers followed the vehicle and conducted an investigative stop in the area of West 86th Street and Interstate 465. After stopping the suspect vehicle, two individuals were taken into custody after evidence consistent with the robbery was located in plain view inside the vehicle.

The suspects in this case have been identified as Mikhal Davaughn Hamilton, 22, and David Jahmal Washington, 20, both of Indianapolis. They have been charged as follows:

Mikhal Davaughn Hamilton:

  • Robbery of a pharmacy while armed with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon
  • Intimidation
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Battery
  • Theft

David Jahmal Washington:

  • Robbery of a pharmacy while armed with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon
  • Theft
