February 18, 1956 – June 6, 2023
Janet Lee Moore, age 67, Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 6, 2023, at IU North Hospital, in Carmel. Born February 18, 1956, in Pontiac, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Cloris (Page) Carroll.
A 1975 graduate of Carmel High School, Janet spent her teen years working at the movie theatre, and later went to work for Deering Cleaners. She retired in 2011 after 25 years with the company.
Janet was a woman of strong faith who had a true servant’s heart. She was an active member of The Journey Church, where she served on both the Leadership and Outreach Teams. She also loved volunteering with Open Doors Food Pantry and Open Arms Pantry.
Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games on her tablet, and she never turned down a game of Bingo. Janet also enjoyed traveling; she recently enjoyed a trip to Nashville with her family (most likely listening to K-Love Radio as the scenery passed by). And when it was time to relax in front of the TV, you were likely to hear the familiar dun-dun of Law & Order, unless she was preoccupied with another crime drama at the time.
There was nothing more important than family to Janet. She loved spending time with her granddaughter. Together they would see just how much of a mess they could make in the kitchen while cooking and baking up a storm.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Rachael Tuite (Tony) of Sheridan, and Sara Asilinn of Westfield; granddaughter, Zoey Marie Tuite; siblings, Craig Carroll of Washington, Mark Carroll of Alaska, Scott Carroll of Texas, Sharon Trammel of Michigan, and Joy Sturgis of Virginia; many, many, nieces and nephews; and by her two feline BFFs, Ethan and Bynx.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Cloris (Page) Carroll; son, Joshua B. Moore; and by her former husband, Michael Kenneth Moore.
A celebration of Janet’s life will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at The Journey Church, 17716 Eagletown Road, Westfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to The Journey Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kercheval Funeral Home of Sheridan.
