The Tipton County Historical Society will have a bus trip, as a fundraiser, to Gettysburg and Hershey, Pa., for four days and three nights this fall. The trip will take place from Sept. 26 to 29. The price is $725 per person for double occupancy or $950 for a single ticket.
The package includes three nights of lodging, three breakfasts, three dinners, admission to the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, Cyclorama Painting, A New Birth of Freedom film, a tour of the Historic Gettysburg Battlefields, the Eisenhower Farm, Hershey Chocolate Visitor Center, guided tour of Hershey, David Wills House, luggage handling, taxes and meal gratuities, and motorcoach transportation.
Day 1
Depart from the Tipton County Historical Society and travel to Gettysburg, Pa., stopping for rest and lunch on your own. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy dinner in the area.
Day 2
After breakfast, depart for a visit to the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center. View the Cyclorama Painting and see the museum and exhibits.
Later, enjoy a tour of Gettysburg, where a licensed battlefield guide will board your bus and take you on a narrated tour. Lunch on your own, then board the shuttle which will transport you to the Eisenhower National Historic Site. After returning to the park via shuttle, board your bus and depart for dinner at one of the popular local restaurants.
Day 3
Enjoy breakfast at the motel, then check out and depart for Hershey, the “Sweetest Place on Earth.” Arrive at the Visitor Center to ride the Hershey’s Chocolate Tour. Grab lunch on your own, then meet your tour guide for a tour of Hershey. After the tour return to Gettysburg to visit the David Wills House, which is a museum that explains the results and aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg and President Lincoln’s famous address. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 4
Following breakfast, check out and depart for home.
