A fast start helped Hamilton Heights to a 62-48 win at Western Boone on Saturday.
The Huskies led 22-9 after the first quarter, and that helped Heights to weather a defensive storm in the second period. The Huskies were ahead 25-14 at halftime, and stayed comfortably ahead of the Stars in the second half.
Gus Etchison had an outstanding night, pouring in 25 points and making five steals. Camron Knott added 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Tyler Wiltermood reached double-double status with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Hudson Hochstedler handed out four assists and Drayden Thomas made two blocked shots.
Heights is now 5-7 for the season. The Huskies host Lapel on Wednesday; the game was originally scheduled to be played this past Friday, but was postponed due to the winter weather.
