Carmel Police respond to shots fired

At approximately 9:57 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, Carmel Police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of the 3300 block of Eden Village Place.

Earlier in the day, an individual came to the residence armed with a handgun, demanding information about the homeowner. The occupants of the residence called CPD and an investigation was initiated. The suspect had left the area prior to officers’ arrival and, as a precaution, the occupants of the residence vacated the property and relocated. Upon the homeowner’s arrival at the residence that evening, multiple bullet holes were located in the residence. Officers again responded to the residence and processed the scene for evidence, given the new damage.

Through its investigation, CPD has identified the suspect in this incident as Andrew Bryant, 50, Noblesville. He has been taken into custody and has been charged with Criminal Recklessness, Intimidation and Pointing a Firearm. While the investigation into the motive behind this incident is still ongoing, it is believed Bryant is the only suspect and there is no reason to believe there are any additional threats to the community at this time.
