John Richard Zeller

February 2, 1929 – March 22, 2017

John Richard Zeller, 88, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Harbour Manor Care Center. He was born on February 2, 1929 to Alfred G. and Pearl (Boden) Zeller in Noblesville, Indiana.

John was a graduate of Lapel High School, class of 1947. He was a farmer for over 65 years, and worked for Delco Remy for 28 years, retiring in 1993. John married the love of his life, Martha Prater, on April 30, 1950. He was a member of Clarksville Christian Church where he served as Elder and Deacon. He loved working on antique tractors and liked showing his tractors at the Hamilton County 4-H & Indiana State Fairs. John was also a 4-H leader for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Zeller; children, David (Nancy) Zeller, Don Zeller, Nancy (Richard) Schnarr, Carolyn Faith, and Debbie (Don) Waterman; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marge Zeller; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred G. Zeller Jr.; and his infant sister, Martha.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Clarksville Christian Church, 16600 Lehr Street in Noblesville, with Pastor Dave Altman officiating. Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton.
