Carmel Community Players will soon stage a wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novel, Peter and the Starcatcher, a tale which upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan).
The play opens this Friday evening, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at The Cat, 254 Veterans Way, Carmel. See the full schedule at right.

Synopsis
Two ships. Two missions. Two identical trunks.
Join Lord Aster and his precocious daughter Molly as they set sail on a secret mission for the Queen of England.
They must destroy a trunk filled with a mysterious substance. While her father journeys with the real treasure on a swift ship, The Wasp, Molly and a decoy trunk are placed on a slower, safer ship, The Neverland.
Discovering the trunks have been switched, everyone wants their hands on its precious cargo. Molly equips a group of orphan boys to help fulfill the mission, while grappling with gangs of pirates, tropical kings, a hungry crocodile, and the existential crisis of growing up.
