The Westfield Lions Club, doing their best through these very trying times, continues to honor the motto of Lions International: “We serve.”

Wardlow

“We serve – two small words that have a great and strong meaning at a time like this. Our club will help our city, state and nation – indeed the world – get through this,” said Westfield Lions Club President John Wardlow. “We continue to serve the community as best as we can.”

In that spirit, the club has made significant donations to Gleaners and Open Doors to help them to carry on in light of an unprecedented need to help families. It is said in Central Indiana alone more than 53 million meals are missed every year. The need is especially important now.

With the cancellation of the Zac Brown Band’s Roar with the Lions Tour, the Westfield Lions had to cancel the VIP ticket raffle. An email was sent to everyone who purchased a ticket offering a full refund. Not one person asked for their money back. The Lions thank everyone and assure them that their contribution will certainly be put to good use.

“It was absolutely amazing, not a single person requested a refund. We are touched at the generosity of everyone,” said Lions Poker for Sight Chairman Mike Birk. “We also want to remind everyone the Lions Poker for Sight Texas Hold ‘Em tournament has been rescheduled for June 12 and 13. Want to win some money? Ten grand to the winner! Come join us.”
