Have you found a folded bag in your mailbox, along with a postcard? This is for the upcoming 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, coming up on Saturday, May 10.

Sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), Stamp Out Hunger is the largest one-day food drive in America! Local NALC Union 888 is partnering with Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, Delaware Township Trustee Office, and Open Doors Food Pantry to organize and prepare for the food drive.

The letter carriers make this one of the easiest food drives you can participate in. Bags will be delivered to your mailbox beginning May 3. Fill a bag with non-perishable food items and then place the bag by your mailbox. Your mail carrier will pick up the filled bags on May 10. All food donated will be distributed to food pantries within Hamilton County.

According to Map the Meal Gap, there are 32,160 food-insecure individuals here in Hamilton County, and many are children. 2025 has really stretched the resources of the local food support network with increased demand as high as 50 percent and more at some local food pantries. Your donation will help support those who are food insecure within our community.

Example of items to donate include applesauce*, canned chicken or tuna, canned fruit, cereal, chunky meat soups, peanut butter*, jelly jars*. *Plastic jars are suggested.
