Yorktown stuns Golden Eagles

Guerin Catholic was stunned by Yorktown in Monday’s Sectional 24 final at Blackford, falling 13-3 in five innings.
The Tigers scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. The Golden Eagles tied it up in the third inning, getting on the board when Wes Gingerich hit a left field double to score Keenan Taylor. But Yorktown broke the game open in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs.
Max Engelking hit a fourth-inning triple to bring in Bennett Ely and Braden Reel, cutting the Tigers’ lead to 7-3. Yorktown finished the game with three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Golden Eagles finished their season 20-8.
