YMI sends out an SOS: “We need mentors”

LarryInFishers.com

The Youth Mentoring Initiative (YMI) is a non-profit group with the mission of providing mentors for students in Hamilton Southeastern Schools in need of an adult mentor.

Executive Director for YMI Alison Gatz tells LarryInFishers the group is in dire need of more volunteers willing to mentor young people in local schools for about an hour a week. Mentors are needed for intermediate, junior high and high school students throughout the area. Some students have been waiting two to three months for a mentor.

Applying to be a mentor is very easy – just use this link.

To learn more about YMI, listen to the podcast I recorded with Alison Gatz at this link. The podcast is about 30 minutes long.

This is your opportunity to make a difference in the life of a young person in your local community.
