Wrestling sectionals take place on Saturday

The first sectional of the winter sports season takes place on Saturday, when Indiana’s high school wrestling teams take to the mat on their road to state at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Hamilton County’s wrestling teams will split across two sectionals. Carmel, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Sheridan and Westfield will travel to the Frankfort sectional, while Guerin Catholic, Hamilton Heights and Noblesville head east to the Elwood sectional. Action at both sites begins at 9 a.m.
AT FRANKFORT
Both Carmel and Southeastern have four top seeds in this sectional. Suhas Chundi (106 pounds) will start that off, then the Greyhounds will claim three of the four first seeds in the heavyweights: Cameron Bacon at 182, Jack Heldt at 195 and Jonathan Williams at 285.
The Royals will be led by 113-pounder Jake Simone, Reece Luhmann at 138, Ronan Hiner at 160, and Andrew Irick at 220; Irick is 25-0 and the county’s lone undefeated wrestlers.
Westfield has two top seeds: Carson Eldred at 120 and Kyle Saez at 170. Sheridan looks ready to make some noise, starting with Mace Bond, the top seed at 145 pounds.

AT ELWOOD
The host Panthers have the most top seeds at this sectional with three. A handful of schools have two first seeds, including Noblesville: Dalton Huffman is top-seeded at 126 pounds, with Justin Johnson-Sparks the first seed at 138.
Dreiken Dunn is the top seed at 152 pounds, while Jeff Dunasky Jr. is the first seed at 145 pounds.
