Wrestling: Millers win North Central Duals

The Noblesville wrestling team finished first at the North Central Duals on Saturday.
The Millers beat the host Panthers and Cascade by identical scores of 60-18 and took care of Pendleton Heights 44-30, giving them a 3-0 record for the event. In addition, five Noblesville wrestlers had 3-0 records: Gage Gully (132 pounds), Tim Alexander (145), Cesar Sierra (160), Joey Kitko (170) and Ben Decker (285).
Alexander and Sierra won all three of their matches by pin. Kitko, Etchison and 220-pounder Jake Etchison each got two pins; Etchison was 2-0 for the day. Gully, Keaton Sepiol (138), Bryce Murray (152) and Austin Hastings (195) all had one pin.
Paxton Cook (106) and Hastings both went 2-1 for the tournament, while Sepiol and Etchison were 2-0. Nate Gregory (113), Cooper Fraham (126), Murray, Gavin Kynun (182) and Jake Long (220) each had one win.
“I was very proud of the guys today, coming back after a tough loss on Wednesday and wrestling with a chip on the shoulder and finished the day 3-0,” said Millers coach Michael Weimer. The coach said Noblesville has “a great group of kids” who all love to compete and had fun on the mat.
