Wrestling: Millers take second at Roncalli Duals

The Noblesville wrestling team finished as runner-up at the Roncalli Duals on Saturday.
The Millers were 3-1 in duals, beating Seymour 44-21, New Palestine 54-27 and Scecina 54-27, losing only to the host Rebels 47-31.
Three Noblesville wrestlers were undefeated at 4-0 for the event: DeWayne Simpson at 160 pounds, Josh Evans at 170 and Jacob Long at 220.
“It was exciting to see all the guys firing on all cylinders today as a team,” said Noblesville coach Michael Weimer. “Very proud of their effort and fight on the day.”

Carmel finished as the runner-up at the Perry Meridian Duals on Friday.
The Greyhounds compiled a 4-1 record at the meet, beating Columbus East 54-12, Oldham (Ky.) 67-12, Warren Central 67-3 and Greenfield-Central 55-22. Carmel’s only loss was to the host Falcons, 30-19.
The ‘Hounds had four wrestlers finish with 5-0 record: Jonathan Williams at 285 pounds, Suhas Chundi at 106, Joey Langeman at 126 and Jake Shafer at 145.
