In an all-county wrestling dual meet, Carmel beat Westfield 39-22 Wednesday at The Rock.
It was a back and forth meet, with the Greyhounds trailing 22-19 before winning the final four matches. Carmel got pins from Kyle Holman at 138 pounds and Joe Theriot at 145, then Gabe Davin won at 152 by a technical fall to clinch the match. Garrett Sharp took the 160-pound bout by decision to finish things off.
Earlier, the Greyhounds won five matches to take a 19-6 lead. Suhas Chundi won a 22-9 major decision at 106, this after Jack Heldt, Zach White and Jonathan Williams were decision winners. Cameron Bacon received a forfeit.
Kyle Saez started the meet with a pin at 170 pounds. Later, the Shamrocks won four matches in a row, including a pin by Carson Eldred at 120. Milo Merkel won a major decision, then Dylan Driver and Brady Drlik each got decision victories.
