Witness history as Millers play first Homecoming at new Beaver Stadium

History will be made tonight for the Noblesville High School football program: The Millers will have their first-ever Homecoming game at Beaver Stadium.

Noblesville hosts Franklin Central tonight for its Homecoming contest, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The Flashes will enter Beaver Stadium with a 2-3 record, the same mark the Millers have.

Franklin Central began its season with a 37-7 win over Perry Meridian, then dropped its next three games, falling to Roncalli 17-0, Brownsburg 42-7 and Zionsville 14-7. The Flashes then beat Avon 38-21 last week to pick up their first Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory of the year.

Sophomore Nevan Tutterow is the FC quarterback, and he has completed exactly 50 percent of his pass attempts, going 49 of 98. Tutterow has totaled 646 yards and six touchdowns so far, with juniors Jayon Harvey and Hudauri Hines both catching two touchdown throws. Harvey leads the overall receptions with eight.

Junior Braylen Gillard is the top rusher with 248 yards, while senior Bryant Hoskins has the most running TDs with three. Senior Wyatt Penney leads the defense with 47 tackles, while senior Julius Parker has made 18 tackles for a loss.

Noblesville is looking for its first HCC win of the season. Junior Logan Shoffner leads the Millers rushing with 606 yards and four touchdowns, while two more juniors, Gage Gulley and Blake Widget, both have five scores on the ground.

Freshman quarterback Landon Hughes has thrown three touchdown passes, all to sophomore Aiden Brewer. Junior Austin Hastings leads the defense with 57 tackles and three quarterback sacks.

HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN-ZIONSVILLE

Hamilton Southeastern is back home at TCU Field on Friday, and the undefeated Royals will take on Zionsville in a 7 p.m. HCC game.

The Eagles are 4-1 for the season, including a 2-1 record in conference play. Zionsville won its first two games, over Pike 31-24 and Lebanon 42-6, before falling to Westfield 23-16 in Week 3. The Eagles have since beaten Franklin Central 14-7 and Noblesville 39-7.

Senior Christian Abney has had a better-than-fair season at quarterback, going 78-of-144 with 844 yards and 12 touchdowns. Wrigley Bumgardner leads the receptions with 27, followed by Eugene Hilton with 25. Hilton has caught five touchdown passes and Bumgardner has four.

Senior Hanson Hinshaw is Zionsville’s top rusher with 276 yards and a pair of scores. Senior Will Sorg leads the defense with 30 tackles.

Southeastern is 5-0, and is currently tied with Brownsburg for first place in the HCC, as both teams have 3-0 conference records. Senior quarterback Ty Bradle is 59-of-105, totaling 625 yards and eight touchdowns, with junior Donovan Hamilton the top receiver, making 23 catches, four of them for touchdowns.

Junior Jalen Alexander leads the Royals rushing with 442 yards and four TDs. Senior Griffen Haas leads the defense with 43 tackles.

SHERIDAN-TAYLOR

Sheridan continues Hoosier Heartland Conference play Friday by hosting Taylor. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

The Titans are 1-4 for the season, getting their first win last week by beating Clinton Central 40-6 in an HHC contest. Taylor had dropped games to North White 34-30, North Miami 42-6, Carroll 48-20 and Eastern 48-20.

The Blackhawks are 4-1, and are on top of the HHC standings with a 4-0 record. Senior Peyton Cross has been solid with the running game, gaining 729 yards and scoring eight touchdowns. Junior Zach Bales has seven scores to go along with his 429 yards.

Sophomore Caleb Alexander is 12-for-21 passing with three touchdowns. Senior Jacob Jones leads the tackles with 57, including seven for a loss.

CARMEL-NORTH CENTRAL

Carmel will look to extend its win streak when it travels down the road to North Central tonight for a 7 p.m. game.

The Panthers are winless in five games, falling to Fishers 34-0, Hamilton Southeastern 45-14, Warren Central 47-28, Lawrence North 44-6 and Center Grove 36-0.

The Greyhounds are 3-2, having won their previous three games. Senior quarterback Jack Kazmierczak has completed 68 of 99 pass attempts, with 969 yards and nine touchdowns to his credit. Senior Reece Bellin has 30 of those catches, including six for touchdowns.

Nick Beidl leads Carmel’s rushing with 173 yards, while Alijah Alfayyad has 128 yards. Will Heldt is on top of the defense list with 37 solo tackles and 12 assists.

GUERIN CATHOLIC-BISHOP CHATARD

Guerin Catholic finishes up Circle City Conference play tonight when it plays at Bishop Chatard in a 7 p.m. game.

The Trojans are 3-2 for the season. Chatard started its campaign with two wins, over Brebeuf Jesuit 24-13 and Arsenal Tech 48-8, then fell to Roncalli 17-14 and Cathedral 38-0. The Trojans got a victory last week by beating Columbus North 41-27.

The Golden Eagles are 3-2 and are looking to avoid a shutout in conference play. Sophomore Malcolm Houze has stepped in at quarterback and is holding his own, throwing for 242 yards and a touchdown in three games. Junior Ryan Zimmerman, in four games, is 68-of-103 for 1,035 yards and nine TDs. Senior Will Fremion leads the reception list with 28, including six touchdowns, while junior Jack Cherry has 25 catches.

Senior Justin Zdobylak is GC’s top rusher with 320 yards and four scores. Senior Anthony Ferrucci is on top of the defense with 50 tackles, while junior Gavin Stella is not far behind with 48 stops.

WESTFIELD-BROWNSBURG

Westfield will travel to Brownsburg tonight to take on the 6A No. 1 Bulldogs in a 7 p.m. HCC game.

Brownsburg is 5-0, and is tied with Hamilton Southeastern for the conference lead at 3-0. The Bulldogs have beaten Ben Davis 21-16, Cathedral 42-35, Franklin Central 42-7, Avon 60-21 and Fishers 41-28.

Senior quarterback Jayden Whitaker has had a great season, going 89-for-122 with 1,242 yards and 10 touchdown throws. Six Brownsburg receivers have at least 10 catches, led by junior Cayden Olinger and senior Fredrick Hawthorne with 15 each.

Junior Garrett Sherrell leads the rushing with 423 yards and five touchdowns, while Whitaker has rushed for six TDs. Senior Keegan Moore tops the defense list with 34 tackles.

Westfield is 3-2 for the season, including a 2-1 record in HCC play. Senior quarterback Cole Ballard has been solid, throwing at a 65-of-105 clip for 907 yards and six touchdowns. Sophomore Gabe Aramboles is the top receiver with 18 catches and two scores.

Ballard leads the rushing with 281 yards, followed by sophomore Kendall Garnett with 276 yards; both have run for five touchdowns. Senior Tyler Dikos has 60 tackles to lead the defense.

FISHERS-AVON

Fishers travels to Avon tonight for a 7 p.m. HCC game.

The Orioles are 0-5 for the season, having fallen to Lawrence North 32-25, Ben Davis 44-13, Hamilton Southeastern 48-13, Brownsburg 60-21 and Franklin Central 38-21.

Junior Mason Reynolds is the quarterback, and he is 80-of-148 for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Senior Anthony Kennedy is the top receiver with 22 catches, three for scores, while senior Jaiden Jones has rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Junior Carson Foxen is on top of the defense with 54 tackles.

The Tigers are 3-2, and 1-2 in conference play. Senior Lucas Minns is 39-of-74 passing, totaling 651 yards and six touchdowns. Senior Aidan Zimmer leads the receptions list with 13 catches, while JonAnthony Hall has four TD catches. Junior Khobie Martin has 481 yards rushing and six touchdowns for the season.

HAMILTON HEIGHTS-TWIN LAKES

Hamilton Heights travels to Twin Lakes tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game. The two teams are in the Hoosier Conference, but in different divisions, so this game does not count in the division standings.

The Indians are 1-4 for the season. Twin Lakes’ lone win came in Week 2, over South Bend Clay 46-8. The Indians have lost to Northwestern 33-7, Tipton 34-21, Rensselaer Central 34-7 and Benton Central 13-6.

Junior quarterback Gavin Businger is passing at a 57-of-115 clip, totaling 387 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Adyn Venters has 11 of those catches. Senior Saige Brandt leads the rushing with 492 yards, including four TDs. Junior CJ Brummett is on top of the defense with 48 tackles.

The Huskies are 3-2 for the season. Junior quarterback Bodie Derrer has completed 62 of 97 passes for 947 yards and 11 touchdowns. Sophomore Tyler Champion has 23 of those catches, including seven TDs.

Senior Trey Ehman tops the rushing list with 207 yards and three scores. Senior Vincent Harley leads the defense with 43 tackles.
