May 9, 1960 – October 10, 2019

William W. “Willie” Witham, Jr., 59, Sharpsville died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 6:25 p.m. at his residence. He was born in Kokomo on May 9, 1960 to William Sr. and Patricia June (Snyder) Witham. On October 2, 1982 he married Jodi A. Stover; she survives.

Willie was a hard worker. He had farmed with Kelley Farms and Adler Seed’s. He had also worked as an electrician for Stover Electric as well as Omni Electric. Noble Industries utilized his talent as head of Maintenance, and most recently he worked at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. You might say he was a “jack of all trades.”

Willie was baptized at Normanda Christian Church and attended East Union Christian Church where he previously was a Trustee. He was very active in Tipton County 4-H where he was a Project Manager, Club Leader and had served as Fair Board President. He served the Sharpsville Community as a member of the Ambulance Board. Willie enjoyed dirt track racing, hunting, archery, guns, woodworking, cutting firewood, trap shooting and being a Poppie. It is noted that his “second birthday” was on January 6, 2011 when he received a liver transplant.

He is survived by his wife, Jodi; daughter, Heather M. Schulenburg and husband Bert, Tipton; and “Poppie’s Girls,” his granddaughters Ada Emaline and Emery Ann Schulenburg, both of Tipton; and his sister, Sharon Pace, Atlanta.

Willie’s always said, “Enjoy good friends, good food, good firearms, and good firewood.”

Funeral services for Willie will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Knapp presiding. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Sharpsville Community Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 411, Sharpsville, IN 46068, or Indiana University Health Foundation Transplant Emergency Fund, P.O. Box 7168, Indianapolis, IN 46207.
