William John Roelofs, 91, Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Wellbrooke of Westfield. He was born on October 26, 1928 in Muskegon, Mich.
William “Bill” Roelofs was a butcher for many years and worked with his father-in-law at Helling’s Meat Market in Michigan. He went on to a new career in the golf industry upon retiring from the family business. He held a variety of positions, including co-ownership in a Country Club in New Mexico and General Manager of Rancho Mirage Country Club in Palm Springs, Calif. Bill also was a very active volunteer of the PGA of America and worked a number of major Championship tournaments, including the PGA Championship and Ryder up. William was a member of the American Business Club and a member of Rotary. He enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane (Donald) Elliott; granddaughter, Monique Bullard, Muskegon; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Lola. He also is survived by his brother Ray Roelofs, Sacramento, Calif.; and his sister Norma Slayback, Lodi, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion (Helling) Roelofs; his son, Jon Roelofs; and his brother Donald Roelofs.
