William E. Bales, 89, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on December 2, 1931 to Clyde and Ruth (Breese) Bales in Indianapolis.
Bill was a life-long resident of Hamilton County and proudly served in the United States Army. He was the owner of Quality Sharpening in Noblesville and Highway Welding in Fishers. Bill enjoyed hunting, farming with his dad, playing cards, liked the outdoors, and went camping from time to time. He was a hard worker, always supported his family, and loved family gatherings. Bill was a true giver, even in his death as a donor to help other families.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Louise Bales; children, Kathi (Tim) Ottesen, Bonnie (Randy) Smith, Debbie Waple, Ron (Leslie) Bales, and Linda (John Stapleton) Higginbotham; sisters, Rosemary Godby, Betty Estridge, and Vivain Summeier; sister-in-law, Beverly Heiser; 27 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joseph Waple; grandson, Joe Waple; and great-grandsons, Michael Simpson and Noah West.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating. Visitation will be from noon to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Westfield.
