William Allen Boyer, 80, Noblesville, and formerly of Carmel, passed away on October 9, 2022, at his home in Noblesville. He was born July 13, 1942, in Tipton to Richard and Phyllis (Gullion) Boyer. He outlived his parents and his sisters, Peggy Ann Hebner and Sally Anne McFall.
He is survived by an aunt and several nieces and nephews, including his guardian, Michael Barker. He also leaves behind his girlfriend of many years, Donna Mahen.
He was a kind and friendly soul, and many will remember him riding his bicycle with orange flags on Main Street in Carmel. He visited many of the shops and businesses in downtown Carmel and even had a table designated to him in a restaurant. He was also a faithful and active member of Carmel United Methodist Church where he played the kazoo in their band.
He was first employed at Goodwill Industries, then worked in the bakery at O’Malia’s Grocery Store, and lastly, he worked for several years at Janus Development Center in Noblesville. During his younger years he participated in Special Olympics for several years, then as grew older he stepped into the role of supporting them.
He loved listening to country and gospel music. He also enjoyed bowling and the game of Bocce. He was an avid Colts fan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with Pastor Patti Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
