With the forecast showing excessive heat and humidity the rest of this week, the City of Noblesville has opened the Green Room, 107 Logan St., as a temporary cooling station, an air-conditioned facility where residents can go to prevent prolonged exposure to the elements.
The Green Room will be available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday for those needing to get out of the heat for a little bit.

“Heat illnesses should not be taken lightly. You have to keep an eye on yourself when your body overheats and drink plenty of water,” Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen said. “The cooling station is intended as a safe place for individuals and families who experience heat-related illness or those that need a welcoming place to temporarily get out of the extreme heat and cool down.”
Noblesville’s NobleACT program in conjunction with the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency will man the cooling station, which provides a centralized location within Federal Hill Commons and safe refuge from the extreme weather. The Green Room offers air conditioning, restroom facilities, and seating, and NobleACT will have water and resource pamphlets available.
Throughout the heat wave, city officials encourage residents to drink plenty of water, limit exposure to direct sunlight, reduce strenuous activities, and wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing.
