Westfield Youth Assistance Program (WYAP) recently received a $15,000 grant from Hamilton County Community Foundation, a CICF affiliate, to support WYAP’s youth-centered services.

Since 2009, WYAP has worked with youth and their families who are facing challenging life circumstances. WYAP’s Early Intervention Advocates work with the youth and their families to create a tailored action plan with services that fit that youth’s specific needs. This grant will allow WYAP to continue to connect Westfield youth with services such as mentoring, tutoring, mental health supports, camps, and other enrichment activities.

“My son was going through depression, but thanks to the psychologist WYAP helped us find, along with the programs offered, he was able to push through,” said Martha, the mom of a WYAP youth, illustrating the positive impact WYAP has on the youth involved in the program. “He’s given it all in his academics as well. The support is just … I’m speechless! Thank you so much for all that you’ve done!”

WYAP continues to see an increase in the number of youth in the program, coinciding with the rapid growth of the Westfield community. Thanks to grants like the one from Hamilton County Community Foundation and the generous donations of community members, WYAP will be able to continue to work to meet this ever-growing need and continue to provide life-changing services like those provided to Martha’s son.
